My first poem was written in elementary school. I went on to have several of my efforts published by a high school teacher, even though I wasn't particularly fond of always having to rhyme every other line. My expression was bound by rules and restraints. Lately, I've been trying my hand at "Free Verse." My newest writings come from real life emotions--the beauty and the suffering. I've add a couple of witty ones, because of my sense of humor.
I live among the breathtaking Appalachian Mountains. The summers are warm. The winters can be harsh. I wouldn't trade my home for anywhere else, and several of the poems are about my surroundings.
Life can be full of heartache or fill your heart with joy and love. "Alone with my Thoughts" is a collection of poetry written my way.
